Marindo Citra Bahari Manufacturer Cooperative
Marindo Citra Bahari Producer Cooperative is one of the cooperatives in Maros Regency, out of 360 existing cooperatives, and is a type of Producer Cooperative engaged in the Fisheries Business. Initially, this cooperative was named Tani Nelayan Citra Bahari Cooperative. It was established in 1999 with Legal Entity Number: 75/BH/KDK.207/IX/1999 dated September 8, 1999, located in Panaikang Hamlet, Pajukukang Village, Bontoa District, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi Province.
At the time of its establishment, the number of members of the Citra Bahari Farmer and Fishermen Cooperative was 175 people, consisting of fishermen, fish farmers, and farmers in Bontoa District, with a total capital of only IDR 226,839,172 at that time, which included Basic Savings, Mandatory Savings, and Voluntary Savings from members. The cooperative operated two business units, namely the Savings and Loan Business Unit and the Seaweed Farming Business Unit. However, over time, these two business units did not develop and progress as expected by the members. One of the reasons was the lack of business capital and the limited awareness of members about cooperative participation.
In the 2023 Fiscal Year, the management, supervisors, and members of Koperasi Tani Citra Bahari at that time held an Extraordinary General Meeting to make amendments to the Cooperative's Articles of Association and Bylaws with the purpose of changing the name of the Cooperative and simultaneously carrying out the replacement/election of the Management and Supervisors for the management period from the 2023 Fiscal Year until the 2027 Fiscal Year.
Based on the results of the Extraordinary Members Meeting, the name of Koperasi Tani Citra Bahari was changed to Koperasi Produsen Marindo Citra Bahari Kab. Maros with Number AHU-0001799.AH.01.38, dated August 3, 2023, located at Jalan Bambu Runcing Komp. UPTD.TPI Labuang, Kelurahan Pettuadae, Kec. Turikale, Kab. Maros, South Sulawesi Province.
In addition to changing the name of the Cooperative and the Replacement and Election of Management and Supervisors for the Fiscal Year period from 2023 to 2027, there was also an addition of business units based on the agreement of the members, namely:
1. Fish Processing Industry and Cold Storage Business Unit
2. Fishery Business Unit
3. Ice Block Factory Business Unit.
Since the amendment of the Articles of Association and Bylaws of the Marindo Citra Bahari Producer Cooperative in the 2023 and 2024 Fiscal Years, the elected management has implemented one of the main business units to be developed out of the 5 (five) planned business units, namely the Fish Processing/Cold Storage Business Unit. To develop this business unit, Marindo Citra Bahari Producer Cooperative collaborates with one of its business partners, PT. Marindo Jaya Maros. In this 2025 Fiscal Year, alhamdulillah... all business plans have been carried out by the management and are running as expected.
In line with the development of the Marindo Citra Bahari Producers Cooperative business unit in Maros Regency, and with the increasing growth of members from 175 to 1,205 individuals, gathered from fishermen, fish traders at the fish auction place, and SMEs in Maros Regency.
In the 2024 Fiscal Year, the Marindo Citra Bahari Producers Cooperative held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the first time since the amendments to the Articles of Association, Bylaws, and the replacement of the management and supervisory board.
The initial capital used by the management to manage and develop the cooperative business comes from its own funds, in the form of principal savings, mandatory savings, and voluntary savings/cooperative deposits.
In addition to the cooperative's internal capital used to develop business units, the Marindo Citra Bahari Producer Cooperative has also received a soft loan assistance from BLU-LPMUKP from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. This soft loan assistance will be disbursed gradually according to the cooperative's business plan.
The capital is intended for investment capital and working capital of the cooperative. The investment capital is used for the purchase of 5 (five) fishing vessels and the construction of a block ice factory along with its equipment, while the working capital is used for the development of fish processing industry units/cold storage and other business units. Based on the Accountability Report of the Management of Marindo Citra Bahari Producer Cooperative at the Annual Member Meeting, Fiscal Year 2024, the total assets owned by Marindo Citra Bahari Cooperative in Maros Regency as of December 31, 2024 amount to IDR 21,006,715,967 (Twenty-One Billion Six Hundred Million Seven Hundred Fifteen Thousand Nine Hundred Sixty-Seven Rupiah).
